Yo, with all this chat-based image generation blowing up, do you think designers are gonna have an easier time?

Since chat-based image generation took off, the designers I know have pretty mixed reactions. The easy part is real—no need to memorize a bunch of syntax, just tweak things by talking, and it speeds up the initial brainstorming a lot.

But from what I’ve seen, it saves your hands but drains your brain. Before, you’d spend time tweaking parameters; now, all that time goes into “it gave me five options, which one do I pick, and how do I tell it the subtle difference I want.”

The tool’s barrier got lower, but your taste and communication skills got amplified. The ease is an illusion—it just shifted where the grind is.

“Tired” part is spot on with that phrasing—all the time spent tweaking parameters just got shifted to making choices instead.

Out of these five options, which one is the most painful? Way more exhausting than tweaking CFG.

It’s true that your taste gets amplified. Tools can’t help you tell good from bad.

How do you even explain subtle differences to it? The communication cost for that just didn’t exist before.

Nah, I don’t buy the “it’s easier” thing. But it really saves time when you’re throwing down ideas fast in the early stages.
