Just saw this open-source app called Off Grid that runs Stable Diffusion directly on iPhone using Apple’s Neural Engine. No internet, no subscription, prompts and images stay on your phone. Tried it on my 15 Pro, takes about ten seconds per image, and you can watch it go from noise to a clear picture step by step—pretty cool.
Minimum requirement is iPhone 12 with iOS 17+, the compressed model is about 1GB, older devices will be slower, like 20-30 seconds. For my small shop, it’s good enough for quick reference images and color palette drafts on the go without firing up a PC.
But for serious main images, nah, resolution and details can’t hold up. Still, as a portable sketchbook, I think it’s worth it.
