Small project, tight budget, but I wanted something with a bit of motion. First tried text-to-video: drop in a description, a few seconds later out comes a short clip. I wrote “an orange cat sunbathing on a windowsill, raining outside” — and what came out really nailed that lazy sunbathing vibe.
Then tried image-to-video: upload a still, tell it how the frame should move, and it brings the image to life. Used it on a product shot with a slow push-in on the camera, and it actually turned out usable.
The catch is length and control — just a few seconds, forget making anything long, but it’s enough for an intro cutaway or an atmosphere clip. Curious what people who do this kind of small job regularly usually go with — text-to or image-to? And where does each one tend to break?
