Krea 2 dropped open weights, and the Turbo version claims it can generate a 2K image in two seconds.

Just saw Krea dropped two open-weight checkpoints at once, Raw and Turbo. The license is their own commercial agreement, not fully unrestricted—gotta read the terms carefully before using it commercially. What really caught my eye is Turbo’s speed—they claim about two seconds per image at 2K resolution.

If you’re running batch scenarios, like e-commerce product shots or marketing materials needing hundreds or thousands of images, that throughput actually saves money in the long run. Of course, that two seconds is their own data; real performance depends on hardware and pipeline.

I’m more curious if the open weights can run stable locally. Closed-source API pay-per-use models aren’t friendly for teams with heavy volume over time. Anyone already tried it? Can actual generation quality keep up with the speed, or is Turbo sacrificing some details to hit that pace?

The 2-second number is what the official spec says, but on your own machine it’s probably gonna be way lower.

Open weights are what really matter. Being able to run it locally means there’s always something to mess around with.

You gotta read the commercial license terms line by line, or you’ll end up stepping in a trap later.

Yeah, for high-volume scenarios, paying per generation really adds up.

Turbo usually just cuts steps for speed, so the details are kinda sus.
