Grok 4.7 — Musk says it’s dropping in ten days, 2.1 trillion parameters, and efficiency’s been boosted too. Stacking up params and boosting efficiency usually have to trade off against each other, unless the architecture actually got reworked. I’m not betting on whether the ten days is accurate. As someone who does image gen, I only care about one thing: did the multimodal part actually move.
Last time’s preview announcement was the same script, if I remember right it got delayed quite a few days
If the 2.1 trillion is MoE, the efficiency boost would actually make sense
Piling on parameters while also touting efficiency gains — that’s laying the marketing on kind of thick
I only care whether the image generation side moved, no matter how strong the chat gets it’s not my business
