Amazon just dropped an AI image generator to help narrow down search results. What do you guys in e-commerce think?

Just saw that Amazon launched an AI image generator, supposedly to help buyers narrow down their searches. As someone who runs a shop on there, my first thought was, whose side is this thing really on? If it lets consumers search by image or describe stuff more precisely, then for us sellers, the exposure logic is probably gonna shift again.

We used to compete on keywords, but now is it gonna be about whether your main product image and listing pics can be correctly understood by the AI? Can’t really tell how it’ll work or which categories it’ll cover yet, so I don’t wanna jump to conclusions.

But once a platform shoves generative stuff into the search pipeline, our ops strategy’s gotta adapt sooner or later. Anyone else in the same boat already looking into this? Let’s chat.

The search logic changed, so now we gotta learn it all over again.

Honestly, now you really gotta think about whether the machine can even understand your main image.

The platform itself jumps into the game, sellers are always at a disadvantage.

The main image has to be something the machine can actually read—that’s way too real. In the future, keyword-stuffed titles might not be as effective as just keeping the image clean and simple.
